Dodgem Darlings

Known as the ‘Dodgem Darlings’, this group of siblings - from a litter of 10 - was rescued from the racing industry in Western Australia.

The group is made up of Mya and Chekka (adopted by Jo & Warren), Jelly and Thunder (adopted by Tracy), Cocoa - RIP (adopted by Krista & John), Lacey (adopted by Merja & Jeremy), Marley (adopted by Hope & Josh) and Indy (adopted by Katie & Kurt).

Sadly, Cocoa (lost her battle with Neospora, crossing the rainbow bridge on 29 April 2022 (4 years, 2 months) but always a Dodgem.

What a weekend…Sunday 25th June, we hear through Free The Hounds and Oreo The Greyhound (thanks Mel & Scott) that the pawrents of Marley and Indy have reached out.

Both Greyt Hounds were adopted through GAP, Marley only recently in May 2023 and Indy way back in October 2021.

Slash (Black Male) was euthanised (date unknown) and we are not able to shed any light on another unnamed Black Male from this litter….unfortunately they didn’t escape the Industry.

The group - hounds and humans all living in Perth - catch up at weekend markets and events bringing this special family of hounds together for regular family re-unions, in other words for fun, frivolity and lots of pats, treats and attention…..and they love it! So do the humans!

In brief, that is the story of the Dodgem Darlings Family and the now 7 Survivors.
